Substance Abuse & Mental Health Ombudsman Program

The Substance Abuse & Mental Health Ombudsman Program (SAMHOP) provides advocacy, guidance, and support for individuals and families navigating the challenges of substance use disorders and mental health conditions. Our Ombudsman serves as both an advocate and a systems navigator, helping clients understand their rights, access available services, and resolve concerns related to treatment and care.

In addition to assisting individuals directly, SAMHOP works collaboratively with mental health and substance abuse service providers, agencies, and community organizations to improve responsiveness and strengthen systems of care across Wyoming. Through education, problem-solving, and resource coordination, our Ombudsman team helps to bridge gaps and ensure that those seeking help are treated with dignity and respect.

SAMHOP is available statewide, and all services are free of charge.
